Cleaning up your room is never fun. If it was, people would be all over it, and no one would ever have a mess in place. If you want to get the job done a little easier, than you should consider taking on a few steps that will help you. That being said, the following are a few steps that you can take to ensure that your room is spotless, at least until the next time you need to clean up again.
Making Your Bed
First and foremost, start cleaning up by making your bed. Seriously, take time to just make your bed right, and make it a habit. If you can start doing this task every morning, you will have a clean, clear bed that stands out, even if you didn’t clean the rest of your room. This is a great habit to get into.
If you are one of those people that puts all dirty closes in one area, it’s time to switch things up. Separate your clothing into piles of light and dark clothes. Then do the laundry, and put things away. Don’t want to do the laundry right now? Then at least separate them and organize them a bit. Having large piles of clothing everywhere never looks good.
Put Clutter Away
It’s easy to have clutter on nightstands, dressers, and more. Take time to pick up all clutter and find a place for it. Chances are each item has a designated location that you are not using. Take your time to inventory these things and then put them where they go, leaving counter tops and dresser drawer tops clean and clear.
Clear The Floor
Once you have done the aforementioned, clear out your floor of clutter, and different pieces. Once you do that, vacuum. You don’t have to do this often, but if you schedule a day for vacuuming and stick to it, you’ll end up with a positively clean room more often than not. Clear the floor before you vacuum, and you’ll find that it becomes easier.
Pick A Spot For Things
Everyone has books, magazines, random papers, and more around their room. When cleaning up, assign each option a place to live. Start with your books, and organize them by size and shape. Then start to work on record collections, paperwork, and more. Taking your time is key here, because it’s easy to rush through the process. If you don’t want to do it in one day, don’t. Start with just one section and work your way through it.
With the aforementioned steps, you could have a clean room fast. Not only that, you can keep it clean, clear, and vacuumed. Just take your time, work on things one at a time, and you’ll be just fine.
